how do i level my poisoning so i can learn poisons from the trainer. It says it requires a poison level of 1 to learn the first poison and i don't know how to learn it.
Nyte .... Just learn the lower level poisons and create them ...
As you level your character and also your poison ability you will be given more potent poisons.

Misread some of the post ... There is a quest around Sentinel Hill that will get you what you need. I will post it here for you when I get home from work.
The quest to learn poisons is called Klavens Tower. It's level 20 (I think, haven't done it in a while) and then from there buy the neccessary ingredients to brew your poisons.
they quest you should get from a rogue trainer you have to meet some chick in wst fall shell give you a diary
you then have to pick an elites pocket then go into the tower right up the top and sap the guy open the chest grab the stuff out of it and sprint/vanish
youll then be poisoned but a paldin can remove the debuff or there is a follow up quest that removes it aswell then go cripple a few mobs lol
oh and dont forget to get you lock picking to 80+ as you have to pick the chest
